  • Be the Bard High School & Adults Tuesdays (October 24 - November 28), 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM $75 Adult, High School, Writing Published writer and soon-to-be produced playwright Damon Norko will help you become the Bard in this creative writing class focused on developing and submitting works of narrative fiction. The course will be half instructional, focusing on character development, setting, descriptions, theme, technique and semantics, and half workshop, where students can get feedback and guidance on their works-in-progress. Goals for the 6-week course will be to write, revise, and ultimately publish a poem, story, or play. A final event will celebrate the accomplishments of the students. Register

  • Lighting Design Basics High School & Adults Sunday, December 10, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM $75 High School, Adults, Tech Theatre, Theatre This class is a must for anyone working or interested in the performing arts. This introductory session provides an overview of the equipment, how-tos, and whys of stage lighting. Our hands-on discussion will include basic fixture types, standard lighting positions in a theatre, connectors and lamps, electrical safety, and the differences between LED and conventional lighting fixtures. In the afternoon, we will explore fixture placement and color selection. Starting with an overview of the qualities and functions of light, we will answer the question “If you have one light, where do you put it? Two? Three?” The session wraps up with a simple method of picking colors that work together, and placing them in your lighting plot. Register
